Baby Love and Warmth in California

A picture is worth a thousand words.
And yet, these pictures do not fully capture the celebration of Baby L's life and the love that surrounded this thankful prego mama!!
Thank you Nat for providing some of these pictures and for others who grabbed my camera to capture the day as well!

Thank you everyone for embracing my sweet baby girl in the warmth of the California sun...made me miss each and every one of you! Sending all you California beach babes love from the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Thank you mom, Amber, and Sandra for being amazing hostesses. It was the perfect shower. It was filled with love, so much laughter, and moments that pulled at my heart strings.
Baby L is one lucky little girl!

The Lovely Baby Bump

It is amazing what pregnancy can do to your heart, mind, and body!  Obviously, my lovely baby bump exposes this little life in me and flaunts growth.  It represents so much.  My heart has expanded to include a deeper love for God, our Creator, my husband, and of course for Baby L.  Growth is not always easy, it is stretching, uncomfortable, even painful at times.  And boy does my body feel that.  I hold a great responsibility with this little girl and pray that God would continue to mold me into the mother she needs.

Here I am...still growing!  I am almost 28 weeks, 3rd trimester!!! And a lovely baby bump it is!

For the mothers who happen to read this post, I would love to hear a part of your story.  How has motherhood and/or pregnancy changed you, made you grow?

Baby in the Making

I am learning to accept the changes in my body and to love my growing belly. There are days that are difficult and I struggle with the extra weight and discomfort that have come along with my pregnancy. BUT, in the midst of the fight against comparing myself to other (tiny) pregnant ladies, I am reminded of the very important fact that I am making a person!!! That does something to your body and puts everything into perspective. It helps me think of my little girl and the countdown until the day I get to meet her.

In fact, at 26 weeks I am in love with my Baby L. I already love her more than anything (well, I love her daddy just as much). I find myself pausing and smiling when she wiggles around in my belly or daydreaming about what she will look like. Baby L is about 14 inches long, practicing breathing, fattening up, and listening to our voices when we chat. I'm almost in the 3rd trimester...let's celebrate!!
Last weekend, I had a baby shower with friends and family in California. My heart is torn between feeling completely at home in Colorado and having people, places, and memories tug at my heart strings from California. I felt so supported and loved by everyone. Plus, Baby L is going to be a little fashionista thanks to all of the adorable clothes, shoes, and hair bows she got! Stay tuned for a baby shower blog post soon.
