It is Party Time!

We had the opportunity to enjoy a few birthday parties this month.  Haley's friend Felicity had her 1st birthday and I wanted to post a few of the details from the party.  Melissa made some beautiful cakes and her display was adorable! My shots are not wonderful but oh well, you get the idea :)
Nana Ne also had her birthday and we joined her for some laughs.  Haley loves her Nana Ne and thinks she is a funny, warm, and loving Grandma!  I can't wait for Haley to have more time with Nana Ne to tell her stories and create a world of fairies, princesses, and imagination!
We also went to another friend's 1st birthday party.  Blair's party was adorable too but I didn't have a chance to really snap any shots of it.  But I did get a picture of Haley's bathing suit for the pool party and also one of her being loved on by the cousins.
My little pale baby...hehe...too cute
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Haley looks SO big compared to her tiny cousins...
August is also daddy's birthday and cousin Avery's birthday.  We celebrated with all of the Leavitt clan (with 5 cousins!) and plan on spending daddy's birthday weekend in the mountains.
"Do you like my party hat?"
It is also Uncle Scotty's birthday so Haley and I decided to make him a digital card, do you like it?
Here is a picture of Uncle Scotty, Aunt Sandra, and Haley when they met each other in June.

On another note, we have started a night time routine with baby girl every night.  She LOVES having a story read to her before bed.  Seriously!  She calms down, nestles into your arms, and looks at each page as you read.  I love introducing her to stories and reading.  I was (and still am) a bit of a bookworm.  I hope that Haley is already getting a taste of the joy of reading!

Here are a couple more pictures for good measure.  I think she is such a cutie pie...

Two Months!

Remember when she was just a tiny (sort of) baby?  I cannot believe she is two months...I love her new stages but it is sweet to look back and remember her just two months ago today!
Now she has grown to be such a big girl! She can hold her head up and with some support, sit in a seated position! I can't believe it! She likes to play with her toys, have little conversations with us, make eyes and smiles at us, and she is starting to bat at her toys.  We are falling more and more in love with her each day!  And I am also recognizing the importance of helping her become a lady of character and love more and more each day too.  If you have a moment, pray for my little girl's heart would you please?
I had to add a bunch more of her two month shots...I just couldn't resist!
Happy Monday to you all and happy two month birthday to our sweet Haley girl!

8 Weeks and Miss Independent

Little Missy is becoming more and more independent and is 8 weeks today!  In so many ways she has taken little steps away from me and yet in other ways she is dependent on me as her mommy.  She follows me with her eyes around the room and looks for me when I am speaking.  The bond between baby and mom is so natural and beautiful.  I am grateful that I have the opportunity to experience it.  Miss Independent started sleeping in her nursery last night.  She seemed happy and slept really well (only woke up at 2am!) but mommy did not sleep so well.  Despite the fact that I know she would have eventually made her way into her room, I struggled having her so far away all night.  As soon as she woke up she was back in my arms and all was well again.  I wonder how God intended it to be because I had trouble settling into what we, as Americans, consider appropriate for our little babies.  I worry, like most moms, that something will be wrong and I won't be there to help her.  I worry about a lot of things these days and the only thing I can do is remind myself that the road has been well traveled by many other mamas and ultimately, God is in control.

On a lighter note, I hope you enjoy another video of baby Haley.  Just chatting away with her mommy after she woke up from a nap.

We are also so happy to welcome our sweet new little niece into the world! Charlotte Marie Poncy was born this morning and she is such a cutie! I wish I could be there to hold her and meet her but that will have to wait for another day :(

Uncle Zachie and Aunt Jackie love you Charlotte! Baby Haley can't wait to be your friend.

Early to Rise

Every morning Haley wakes up around 6:30 and is ready to face the day (well, actually she enjoys about an hour or so before she is sleeping again but that is beside the point).  Anyway, if you know me, you know to keep a safe distance from me before 8am at the earliest.  Luckily Haley doesn't take after her mommy and she is so happy in the morning.  It has cured me of my morning crankiness and honestly, who could be cranky when you have this sweet thing smiling and cooing at you...
Unfortunately, I didn't capture the conversations we have every morning so you will have to keep an eye out for that in the future.

All Smiles

A picture is worth a thousand words...
how about several pictures, even if they are a tiny bit blurry.
 "You are so funny mom!"
 "No really, you are hilarious!"
*sigh*
Guess today was a grey stripe day! Can you see my shirt? We are twinkies :)
I have decided to start the cloth diapers (eeek!).  I got them all washed and had a friend over to help me figure out how they work (what size to make them for Haley, etc).  I am nervous and excited...they are actually really cute. Can you see them in the pictures of Haley above, she is wearing a fun printed one?
 Sweet sleeping baby.
Sweet not-so-sleeping baby :) She didn't want to be bundled anymore and was slowly making her way out of it.  It is a learning curve trying to figure out what she needs throughout the day (and night).
A few fun videos to come. Stay tuned!

August and 6 weeks!

With summer coming to a close, I can feel the opportunity to get outside slipping away from me.  Colorado summers are my favorite and up until recently, we have stayed snug inside with the A/C.  Unfortunately, neither Haley nor I were ready to spend our time in the heat and sun of the summer.  She is now 6 weeks old, still so tiny but growing so fast.  We are still pretty limited but I am hoping to get to the mountains with Haley and Zach before the snow hits.  Instead of heading to the outdoors, I have been spending time dressing Haley up...I LOVE bows :)
I have taken every chance to relish in the newborn characteristics of my little girl...the yawns, cries, and smiles.  She will be so different so soon and I am really trying to enjoy her each day (let's be honest, it doesn't take that much effort... I am wrapped around her little finger!).

And I love her little feet...so cute!
Her little personality is continuing to form and it is all Haley :)  I am in awe of how God knit her together and how her uniqueness continues to show itself as she gets older.  I am excited to see more of who God made her to be and how we will influence her.  My faith has deepened as I watch over and pray for my little Haley Madeline.
 Happy Weekend to you!
